Google Insights for Search analyzes keyword trends and breaks down that information by time period, location, category and type of search. Google Insights is free to use, and data can be exported if the user has a Google account.

Things You'll Need

    • 1 Visit Google Insights at google.com/insights/search/.
    • 2 Sign in to Google with your email and password.
    • 3 Type the keyword into the search box at the top center of the page. Search trends for multiple keywords by separating each word with a comma. Group keywords by adding "+" between search terms.
    • 4 Narrow your search with advanced filter options to the right. Select different categories from the drop-down menus to narrow your search.
    • 5 Click "Download to CSV" to export data.

Tips & Warnings



  • Google Insights also gives users the option to embed charts into website content. Click "Embed this chart" at the bottom of the graph to generate code and copy and paste it into your website content.
